Growing

I weighed and measured the kids today, at home, so of course it's not 100% accurate, but close enough for me.
Titus is 3 1/2 years old, weighs 36 pounds and is 3 feet 4 inches tall.  That puts him in the 71st and 73 percentiles on the growth charts.
Isabele is 21 months old, weights 28 pounds and is 2 feet 10 inches tall.  That puts her in the 79th percentile for height and weight.

Isabele is talking up a storm now.  She is soaking up vocabulary like a sponge.

Titus is getting over his hesitancy in the lake.  He actually played in the lake at my mom's yesterday, standing on the bottom in water up to mid abdomen, for a while and enjoyed himself.  (Sometimes it helps to be "pushed" by the performance of your sister).  Isabele is a fish that would happily drown.  She ends up crying because we won't let her walk totally independently.  She still falls down in the water and is too buoyant to get her feet stuck back on the ground.

Fevers and 100 degree Weather

Isabele has been throwing up today - has a bit of a fever too.  And the poor girl had to pick today to be too hot.  It's 99 degrees outside at my house right now - 90 degrees inside.  She's taken 2 naps in the cool basement.  She's had 2 baths in cool water for probably a total of an hour soaking and playing.  And now she's eating ice.  She keeps begging for water and to eat.  Unfortunately at 21 months she doesn't understand why I'm not letting her eat or drink freely.
Titus is benefiting from Isabele being sick.  He's going on over a total of an hour of playing with a boat in the bathtub (he's also on bath number 2 for the day).
I'm hoping Isabele keeps her ice down so she can have a bit more to eat this evening in hopes of getting her to sleep well tonight.

Pictures of my stuff from the 2010 Kosciusko County Fair

The kids decided to help me with the photos.  Not sure it was much help, but they are kind of cute (and dirty).

FYI

I've finally added those delinquent photos.  All the way back to "Bikeride to Bia's" if you are interested in some cute pictures of my kids being kids.

Brian and the Pitts

Brian finished his 5 hours of dual in the Pitts S2B earlier this week.  He flew the Pitts S1S for the first time yesterday.  He did a total of 2.5 hrs and 8 landings yesterday.  5 landings and about 45 minutes yesterday morning and then last evening he flew it down to Kokomo to practice the Primary Aerobatic Routine in the box at the Kokomo Airport.  The pictures are from when he went down to Kokomo.

Isabele's Daisy Halo

I made this Daisy Halo for Isabele on July 7th.  She left it on for about 30 minutes.  Luckily I got some good pictures before she decided she was tired of it.

And a pretty bouquet.

Kosciusko County Fair

On a whim, at the last minute I decided to enter some of my handiwork at the local fair, in the Open Class.  I entered a dress with pinafore I made earlier this summer for Isabele, a Irish Lace Scarf that I knitted during this past winter and a little smocked bishop style dress that I made late last summer for Isabele.  I didn't think I'd place or win anything.  I was wrong.  I got a First Prize (blue ribbon) on each of my entries and the Daisy Dress with Pinafore also won Grand Champion (a purple ribbon).  I'll be sure to photograph these items when I bring them home on Monday - that way I'll have a permanent example (as I'm sure that at least the dresses will be well worn and passed on to my sister for her kids).

Here is the Daisy dress with the blue pinafore option.  The blue one was dirty, so the yellow one went to the fair.

If you know anyone who does any needlecraft, it would be great to see some more entries in the Open Class at the fair next year.  It's free to enter.
